Our History

Kelly’s Industrial Services began 28 years ago as Kelly’s Lawn Service when then owner Paul Kleinpeter was asked by his brother-in-law to mow the common grounds in the subdivision that he was living in. Paul’s attention to detail, quality work, and competitive pricing built a reputation that very quickly brought a significant increase in business. Paul and his brother formed a partnership, and the business was incorporated in 1985.

In 1986, the decision was made to diversify the company by adding landscaping to the services offered. A General Manager was added to the staff at Kelly’s with the primary task of managing the services and growth of the landscaping business. The success of this new venture would be insured with a licensed Landscape Contractor on board. As the years progressed, Kelly’s grew into one of the largest lawn service contractors in the Baton Rouge area. In 1988, the company grew again by adding pipeline right of way work for the Natural Gas Industry along with vegetation control services, another diversification that quickly grew. The company has continued to grow rapidly and this was due in part to Kelly’s Lawn Services’ willingness to provide their customers with the services that they needed.

Paul became sole owner of Kelly’s Lawn Services in 1994, and with the additional growth in volume and services, the company no longer represented what was started in 1983. Kelly’s Lawn Service then became Kelly’s Industrial Services, Inc. Kelly’s new services included pipeline right of way maintenance & reclaiming, tank farm maintenance, line locating, flame packing, labor construction/maintenance crews, lawn care, and landscaping.

In 2000, the company was gifted to Kelly Kleinpeter, Paul’s wife, who is now the president and owner of Kelly’s Industrial Services. In 2004, Kelly’s became a Certified Woman-Owned business.

Business has been good and there has always been a concentrated effort to build a company that was based on honesty and integrity. God has blessed our efforts.
